Connecting US families to Brazil

Sejam bem-vindos!

Growing up in a small, rural town in Idaho, my hometown had one stoplight, I’d never flown in an airplane and my exposure to different cultures was limited to 80’s-90’s pop culture references, the small Laotian community employed by the Tupperware factory and Hispanic migrant workers who worked in agricultural. When I was called to serve an LDS mission to Brazil, I may as well have been told I was traveling to the moon. Little did I know how much I would learn to love the people, art, history and culture of Brazil. I was being sent to Brazil to teach, but little did I know, just how much I would learn.

This blog is a gathering of stories, insights, interviews, surprises and discoveries which document little known historical and cultural connections between Brazil and the United States, and the world.

For those who have traveled to or lived in Brazil, it is an experience you will never forget.

For those who are planning to travel or live in Brazil, hopefully this blog can provide you with context, a foundation and insights to which enhance and enrich your experience and serve as a reminder of how connected we all really are.
